Dronagiri bagini glacier trek takes you to the land of ‘Sanjeevani’ herb, it’s the home of Dronagiri peak, a part of which was lifted and transferred to Lanka by Lord Hanuman for saving life of Laxman ji, while they were in battle ground. Further from Dronagiri village we will trek upto the source of bagini glacier from where you can see the mighty Rishi peaks, changbang, kalinka and dronagiri.

Rishikesh to Rishikesh

Day 1

Rishikesh - Joshimath (255 kms 8-9 hrs)

The drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath is an arduous one but you will surely love the journey which is a hilly route altogether.we will drive through devprayag Srinagar rudraprayag and will arrive at joshimath by 5:00 pm, on arrival check in to hotel and relax for the day.

Day 2

Joshimath – Jumma – Ruing (44 kms drive 3kms trek)

After driving for about one and a half hour we will reach Jumma road head which is the starting point of the trek, from here a short trek takes you to the ruing village which is the camping point for the day. You will get enough time to acclimatize today so that you can gear up for the coming days.

Day 3

Ruing – Dronagiri – Siam ( 10 kms trek)

Today’s trek will take you through mixed dense forest and rocky terrain as you approach Dronagiri village which is the last inhabited village in our trek route.our camping point for the day is bit ahead of the village so after taking a halt for packed lunch we will move ahead for our destination. on arrival pitch tents and enjoy the beautiful setting around you.

Day 4

Siam – Garur Basecamp (5 kms trek)

The distance for today’s trek is not much but the terrain is really challenging, the route goes through boulders and moraine and you might need to cross several water streams coming from the glaciers. As you move towards the garur base camp you can clearly see the high Himalayan peaks namely Rishi parvat, garur dome, dronagiri. and hathi ghori parvat

Day 5

Garur Basecamp – Rishi kund summit – Longatauli (13 kms trek)

Today we will start early for the trek as we need to reach summit and return back,the terrain is mostly full of boulders, moraine and goes along the bagini glacier which makes today’s trek challenging, but as you approach the summit you will feel that the challenge was worth taking. Reaching the top you can see the massive twin rishi peaks, changbang, kalinka and dronagiri right infront of you and the rishi kund lies at the bottom of these peaks. After spending some time with the mountains we will start trekking down to base.

Day 6

Longatauli – Ruing (10 kms trek)

Descending down is also not an easy task in the mountains, so steadily and carefully we move down to Ruing through Dronagiri village. On arrival get in to your tents and relax for the last night in the trek

Day 7

Ruing – Joshimath (3 kms trek and 44 kms drive)

Covering a short descend towards jumma road head we will arrive at the cab boarding point which concludes the trek, from here approx. an hour’s drive will take us to Joshimath, on arrival check in to hotel and rest for the day.

Day 8

Joshimath – Rishikesh (255 kms drive)

It’s a day to return back, after having breakfast board your vehicle and bid goodbye to the mountains. We will reach Rishikesh by evening, so you can plan your journey ahead accordingly.

  • 1 night hotel/homestay in Joshimath.
  • Food while on trek or as mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Forest permits, camping charges, or expedition fee.
  • Experienced and qualified trek leader, support staff, cook, porters and mules for carrying common luggage.
  • Tents for triple sharing, sleeping bags, mats etc.
  • Basic first aid and medical kit
  • Technical and safety equipment if required

Exclusions

  • Any item or expense of personal nature
  • Meals during road transit
  • Porter mule charges for carrying personal luggage
  • Cost escalation due to change in duration of the trek which may happen due to natural and unforeseen conditions like bad weather, landslides, road blocks or political imbalances etc.
