Chopta Chandrashila Trek

Chopta is surrounded by beautiful forest of Oak, deodar and rhododendron. Lush green meadows and the high Himalayan peaks make the place more beautiful. A trek of 3.5 kms from chopta to Tungnath, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world. The temple is one of the “PanchKedars” and is tucked in the lap of Chandrashila Peak. From Tungnath temple a further ascent of 1.5 kms to Chandrashilla Summit, wherefrom one can capture the silvery sheen of the Himalayan range, green valley and deep gorges.

Rishikesh to Chopta

Day 1

Rishikesh – Chopta (210kms approx. 7-8 hrs)

Our journey starts from rishikesh via devprayag, Srinagar, rudraprayag, ukhimath and arrival at chopta by 2:00 pm.

Day 2

Chopta - Tungnath – Chandrashila - Chopta (9kms trek)

We will start our trek early in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise from Chandrashila peak.also you can see some high Himalayan peaks from the summit,and the view is worth. Coming down we will stop at Tungnath temple the highest shiva temple in the world and the third kedar among the Panch Kedar circuit. Later trek down to Chopta for overnight stay.

Day 3

Chopta – Rishikesh (210 kms 7-8 hrs drive)

A return journey to rishikesh, we will reach rishikesh by 4:00 pm so you can make your arrangements for further journey accordingly.

  • Meals during road transit
  • Porter mule charges for carrying personal luggage
  • Cost escalation due to change in duration of the trek which may happen due to natural and unforeseen conditions like bad weather, landslides, road blocks or political imbalances etc.
