Introduction to Kedarkantha Trek

Situated in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi district, the Kedarkantha Trek reaches an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters above sea level. The trek begins from the charming village of Sankri, which serves as the base camp. From Sankri, the trail gradually ascends through dense pine and oak forests, scenic meadows, and snow-covered clearings before reaching the Kedarkantha summit.

The highlight of this trek is the panoramic 360-degree view from the summit. Trekkers can witness majestic Himalayan peaks such as Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Ranglana. The sunrise from the Kedarkantha summit is a magical experience, as the golden hues illuminate the surrounding snow-clad mountains.

Why Kedarkantha Trek is So Popular

Kedarkantha Trek is widely regarded as one of the best winter treks in Uttarakhand. Its accessibility, moderate difficulty level, and well-marked trails make it suitable for first-time trekkers. Unlike many other high-altitude treks that become challenging in winter, Kedarkantha offers a safe and manageable snow trekking experience.

Snowman Treks ensures that participants receive complete support throughout the journey, including experienced trek leaders, quality camping equipment, and nutritious meals. Our team prioritizes safety and follows proper acclimatization protocols to provide a smooth trekking experience.
